change of hours

this morning 29/09/11 we had a shop floor meeting with management and union we were told as of monday our weekly hours and start times would change as mentioned on another message. i am on a 30 hour contract and have no idea or have the union as to what hours i will be working or start times etc.i have my own delivery duty which i picked on the last re-pick over 2 years ago and was told by union rep that as of monday i will loss this duty and revert to floating dutys can anyone tell me if this can happen? (be taken of a duty i have picked) thanks

i think you should start a national strike if your not happy with start times oh and you must have agreed to this happening btw or it would have gone to disagreement

yes just had a revision i think? there as been previous meetings but this revision seems to be pushing things through, at the meeting this morning both the dom and union were not fully sure what my new hours were going to be just that i was to be taken of my duty and put onto a floating duty should find out tomorrow

you should still keep your contracted 30hrs (unless it was just a temporary contract) but your duty will have gone to a senior postie in the repick. you may find your start and finish times will be later.

been told this morning that as of monday my new start times are monday 6-00 am tuesday off wednesday 6-20 thursday 6-40 friday 9-30 off saturday now working 4 day week off every tuesday other days still stagered is this right? do other offices with 30 hour contracts work these hours and how much notice did thay get before these changes came in to effect

i'm in the cwu like everyone else, if you look at another pm on change of hours sounds like we work at the same d.o. maybe hes full time were as i am on a 30 hour contract just asking around cos i don't think what the management are doing is right and the union reps seem to be going along with them all we seem to get from them is we've got the best deal we could get but speaking to other lads seems thay might have got the best deal for themselves, also don't know way i am still in the union as thay just seem to go along with managment!

if your union rep agrees with mangement does he have a meeting with staff before
to explain the changes in your office.
i dont know what area your from but this does seem to be happening all over the country.

if any rep in london told us our times were changing and duties reduced to part-time or
contract staff being introduced i think the rep would be finished.

your office should have the last say, your the ones who vote your rep in.
