Driving test in own car?

I have my driving test booked. It states in a letter this will be in my own vehicle, and to make sure its road worthy.
Is this correct? I will be using my own car? not a Royal mail van?

Usually when sitting your driving test you will use a car provided by yourself (your own car), this is 9/10 times your driving instructors car or a different car if that is what you want. It must be road worthy and have a current MOT, insurance and road tax.

RM no longer train people to drive nor provide vehicles for driving tests, at least not on deliveries. This is a good thing as most RM vehicles can only be described as road worthy in the loosed sense, ie, they have 4 wheels and an engine.

you cant use a royal mail van for a driving test . it would be a sackable offence

How could you do a changeover in your own car? :crazy:
If you did the changeover in anything but the type of vehicle you're changing over to. It'd be a total waste of everyones time. :hmmmm

Changeover is the biggest oldest van in the office, I had to swap from a Vauxhall Combo to a LWB Transit because the other round was going out solo and the managers said the other guy wasn't internally insured
because he hadn't done changeover yet.

So I got the transit and he got my combo!

I had a driving test with Royal Mail. I passed my proper driving test years ago. I had a letter clearly stating that I would be driving my own car in this Royal Mail test. But in the end I drove the transit van at my depot........so no problems.

surely the letter meant you will be driving the vehicle at the DO and the instructor will not be using a different one
