Self certificate advice

Hi I was just wondering, when i was off with the dog bite , the following week I was meant to be on annual leave.

I got bit on a thursday almost end of duty , 1 hr remaining but this was spent at the doctors, and also trying to ring work with update.
I went sick on the friday, this was then coming into a bank holiday weekend. I saw an emergency doctor on the saturday
the wound had an infection, so I took the following week off,

When would the self certificate run out that week,
my dom is saying wednesday and is saying the rest is annual leave, I said no it should be fri/sat thinking 7 days from the previous friday not including the bank holiday monday.

Any advice or thoughts on this, BTW this happened in the first part of may, while have i taken so long to query it because RM was trying to get rid of me and was hoping I would not notice with all they have been trying to trip me up on.

They did not even apoligise for the mistake and making out I am trying it on

First day of sickness would have been the friday, therefore due back to work on the friday. Bank holiday should be paid back as you were sick then? That's my working of it, but maybe better for someone wiser's advice.

The first day of absence should be the start date of your certificate and that should run for a full week. Therefore it should run from the friday to the following thursday! This has always been my understanding of it at least!

The bank holiday falls within the absence time and is therefore counted as another day off sick.
