Are all the PDAs rubbish?

Since my office went over to P&L a few months ago, I have got through endless PDAs. The straps break, they freeze or won't connect. Is it like this everywhere? In our office, when a PDA gets booked off, another supposedly repaired one gets sent in. The drivers in our office got PDAs ages ago, and they seemed OK, but now they all seem crap and unreliable. On collection, we have to take a PDA and an Opticon scanner in case the PDA fails. Most of the cradle chargers in our vans don't work now. Is it our DO, or is it the same in all offices?

Yours have straps pure luxury

They are getting older now and they will continue to break down more often, put it like this, how long would you keep a phone if you used it as much as the PDA is used but we all know RM will try to run them for 20 years and just blame us if they stop working.

As for the cradles in the vans.....................fill in a PMT form and get the garage to fix it

Within an hour of me leaving the office this morning the power % was down to 32%......absoulte rubbish Most of them have lost their elastic strap off the back and the screens are so dull you can barely see the display. Won't be long before they will have to replace them all followed by all the vans...........well done RM another fantastic purchase

They are all shite and break the disability discrimination law, but we won't mention that. I feel ashamed to use them when they are working. When they are not I'm beginning to care less and less. Will do the job by the book if trained and have good equipment. But the very fact they are piss poor makes me not take them very seriously nor the tasks they are supposed to perform. I'm not chasing around town looking for the working pda or even better handing my working one over to another whose pda just froze.

They're just as crap in MCs, the batteries don't last long, you can get through multiple PDAs each during a shift and sometimes they don't download even when plugged into the cradle.

Probably a hell of a lot of them are ones where the battery is f****d. They won't send out replacement batteries alone, you've got to send the whole pda back. It's a shame that RM didn't think of buying some spare batteries.

Get fed up with having to put pin all the time. And battery low couple of hours into delivery

The same for the straps, we could quite easily change them if they would send us them, they are only attached by two small screws, but they won't send them to us and they won't take a PDA back just because of a broken strap. They are a serious PITA on delivery without a strap and it just makes them more likely to get broken or lost

The company that does these PDA is only 1/2 mile from our DO but we can't even get spare stylus for them , so you've got no hope of spare batteries
