Drivers duty cover when on holiday

I signed for the passenger duty of our P&L pair so I assume that when the driver duty is being covered it will be by another driver.

Is this correct?

Unless you can drive and you are down in your office list as a driver.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Well I can drive but I've never driven for RM and not done their test thing; also the driver duty has more time built into it for vehicle checks, etc.

So can they make me drive without having passed any of the tests the actual drivers have done recently?

As far as I know No - however if you have your contract available I would check it. Over the last few years RM have introduced a "occasional driving" clause in the recruiting and contract stuff.

I wasn't, I can but I have not yet made my mind up. There are Pros and Cons to being a driver in P&L and I think its a close call. I suppose it all comes down to being a reserve or not.

100% no they can't force you to drive unless you have had a change over.
They can however ask you to have a change over.
