Transfer

How do I go about getting a transfer? I'm not in the union so I got the transfer form off my manager, but is there any way to get it sorted ASAP - providing there are jobs available. I spoke to our local postie and he believes there are a couple of people who have recently left so there may be something available, not sure how to go about it though?

Could you not go to your nearest office and see the managers there to maybe speed things up.
Rule of thumb is HR are useless at this transfer business.

I did,and i got a transfer within a week,it was years ago mind and things have changed but i can't see why not.
If your DOM is prepared to let you go and the other guy wants you it's a piece of piss to sort out.

so i should ignore the form telling me not to speak to the offices directly?

i might wait two weeks to visit the offices, my current office gets the £800 bonus in a couple of weeks and i dont want to risk missing out on that

Yes wait for 800 quids :) I think I will be getting mine in 3 weeks time. (600 first) and hopefully new office haven't done anything then you might get double dip

On transfer, if the receiving office has already qualified for a lump sum payment and the transferee has not previously received payment from their old office, or has received a lower payment the lump sum or the difference will be paid.

On transfer, if the receiving office has not qualified for a lump sum payment, but the transferee has already received payment from their old office, the individual will not be due payment when the new office triggers the lump sum, unless the receiving office payment is greater.

If the transferee is already in receipt of the shorter working week from their old office, but the receiving office has not achieved the shorter working week, the transferee will only be expected to work the reduced hours at their new office.
