solve me this conumdrum

Today on the first loop of my new round i had a trolley that holds two bags but had three bags of mail and packets [all bags were heavy] and about 30/40 mins to complete any ideas ?

im the walker van goes of to another point for him to start his loop ,at the end of my loop i arrive at where he parks the van as his loop finishes there to, if i leave the bag in the van , and went to collect or he was to bring either way that would extend the time on the loop and therefore create the possibility of goin over my time

If you are saying that is the situation every day i.e. you have three full bags including packets for one loop then the planners have made a harry halls of it in my opinion. If its just a one off then its just a case of working round it which if its your walk and your buddys should not be a huge ask..Although having said that we dont really get paid enough to solve problems which is why we have s**t loads of linos walking about making all the big decisions about which drink to have from the machine today,,!! You could always book some docket if you know your going over

tie wrap your trolley to a bike with panniers and tow it

Take all the packets out to try and reduce it to two bags and give them to the driver to do with his parcels and specials - or put your first delivery points in one of the double handled satchel inserts and hang it over the trolley handle - that should be gone by 15 minutes into the loop - just make sure that the total you are hauling is less than 32Kg

Why isnt the van parked in the middle of the two loops, you do your delivery from there and the driver does his delivery from there also, or is this frowned upon by RM as being too sensible

It's a f*ck up either way. The whole point of this idea is that the job can be done as it was designed to be done - if on any occasion a sudden spurt in mail makes the job unworkable then that's bad planning. You plan for the worst, not the best. Unfortunately in all these revisions, Royal Mail has planned for the best; lowest model week, lowest mail figures they can muster, biggest piles of bullsh*t they can find.

Result?

Catastrophe.

There will come a day when they actually have to come out with their tail between their legs and either start all over again or revert to the way it was. No doubt that will come when RM has been privatised and when the individuals responsible, rather than getting their just desserts, will have received very comfortable pay-offs. Isn't that the way of the world nowadays? If your job title includes the word 'manager', incompetence is a recipe only for a golden handshake.

I put the 2 bags either side and put the 3rd bag on top and take a photo with your phone and send it to Moya and ask her opinion.
I would also show the DOM before you went out as well.
Being serious I call the driver to bring the additional bag out to you and cut off even earlier than you normally do .
