Are you interested in anything they suggest?

Don't bring anything back.
Only take enough to comfortably take you to your time.
If they disagree give them the choice.
Either you decide how much to take...or they do but if they do and they get it wrong you reserve the right to bring back their mistake.
That way it's their decision so it can't be wilful delay can it?

Simple - tell them before you go out that you can't complete, then leave what you can't do with them to deal with.

Remember - the worst than can happen is you get sacked, it's not life and death.

We are being bullied to really bad atm with a manger brought in who is stirring things up. he's been timing people, saying you should be banded up in x time etc. This guy is right in your face watching you throw mail in. Say you're cutting off and he goes gets the dom and states that you arn't working to standard and i did see him show a collegue a sheet of work rates etc

Can any reps please let me know if there is an agreed indoor individual work rate standard?

Our understanding is that they are extracting information from the IWT (which is an agreed tool) to determine what the throughputs (IPS/Prep) should be on an individual basis. However the IWT is a tool to measure office/unit performance not individual performance and there has been no discussion with the CWU at national level at all on this unagreed approach.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I'm afraid it's that old chestnut regarding communication. IF the IWT is a duty builder, and NOT an individual duty rate then our reps need telling PRONTO.
Our manager is bullying people to not claim using the IWT as gospel, and harrassing people to not take meal breaks, working let mad using the IWT as what work rate is expected of us.
He also states that IPS has an agreed work rate stating that a box of flats should be done 2mins a box. Because he's using the IWT, his argument is, IWT is an agreed method with the business and CWU and it states you should be out the door by 9.20am. Therefore, i'm not paying you, as the job should be done in the time.

Now i can see this getting really messy with possible strike action called for. grievances and harassment claims have been put in against said manager.
Big problem is, CWU REPS are not backing the troops and staying quiet with ZERO backing.

You do offer loads of good advice on this site. But that isn't good. You know as well as everyone else there are many for whom the job defines who they are, you're right its not death but the sack can cause a loss of life in more meanings than one. Thanks for all the good advice; just thought it worth mentioning the importance of some people staying in their job shouldn't be under estimated.
