Every Team Brief in our office allways seem to contain.... 1. The mail is reducing 2. How much money were loosing 3. Something else if you either do or do wrong you will be conduct coded for or is a sackable offence!!!!!
I'm sick of hearing it , we all know things aren't rosy but why don't they for once tell us something posotive, or use it to praise the staff as i'm sure we do something well.
Surely this would help motivate staff instead of constantly depressing them .....

Praise and Royal mail don't go together apart from here

Well said mate. Ours are crap too - put together by some stupid management bimbo. But when it comes to things we might want to know about
How much worse can it get? A LOT F****** WORSE !!!

Thanks for your reply and i do envy you, but this raises a question in my mind..... On the day we have our team brief (even though it has been timed @ 1 min 35 seconds, our usual brief takes less than 5 mins and has never lasted 20 mins set aside the stipulated 30 mins) our working day is extended by 30 mins on that day, which i have no problem with. My problem is managers giving a irrelevant 5 minitue brief to extend the delivery time and prevent docket being booked on busy days.
Do you have to work that payed 30 mins on one day during your week?......
The brief could and should be used for many things, firstly (IMHO) to praise and motivate staff, but many other things could be covered to refresh (us dinasours) and instruct new starters, i.e the likes of PPI procedure (you would be surprised how many PPI items don't get charged due to people NEVER being told correct procedure), new products, general procedure such as correctly filling in collection forms etc etc, not just to extend the delivery time on busy days
Work time learning is depressing. The people who just dont bother going always seem the better for missing it and are not behind on any vital information. If you are happy you will not be after going through them, everytime! Our supervisors seem to be falling over themselves at the moment to say thankyou and even pass on more thankyou's from their line managers. After how they've all behaved in the past though, thanks coming from them cannot be believed to be genuine, and I think they have been told to say it everyday.
Team briefs/WTL should be held on a Tuesday and 30 mins should be built in to accommodate this.
Tuesday is traditional a light day so it can usually be done no probs and shouldn't effect the pipeline.
On every revision i've had at my place the 30 mins on a Tuesday is built in there.
Also don't forget it's a 2 way thing, the idea is for us lot to ask questions as well, not to just stand there and listen to their bollox.
What would you guys rather do,wind them up for 30 mins or lapse?
If they regularly cancel the brief to get you either to lapse or out earlier because you're short staffed/busy ect then flag it to Moya.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Yeh ours is either a Tues or Wed to accomodate weekly day off. We do ask questions but the std answer is i'll find out and let you know and never does. As regards discussion it allways gets cut off quickly with the phrase "right we'll move on" even if your in mid flow.
Another question do we know of anyone who has had any joy from e-mailing Moya, as i have had a dreadfull time with a conduct and grievance issue lately (in fact both are stillon going) and would be interseted if she does get her sleaves rolled up?
Each Delivery Employee must have a weekly 30-minute WTL session as a national standard. This must be included when planning duties. The majority of Delivery Offices currently hold their WTL sessions on days when traffic volumes are traditionally lighter. In most cases this is currently Tuesday. However, in larger offices, the number of sessions needed to be held in order to fulfil the weekly requirement of one 30-minute session per employee results in sessions needing to be held on the other days of the week

I have e-mailed Moya. Got a reply quite quickly. But before they would do anything they wanted my Name and DO!!!!And then they would send in a Team to investigate my concerns. Would I reveal that info. NO. And I explainded that in my response.

Not had one in 3 months
Although I work in an MC we have the same problem regards WTLL. If they dont want to or "cant" ? hold these
meetings then they either owe us the time for them as this time is built into your working week or better still
buy this complete waste of time back off us.Dont hold your breath on either option
If they are taking the piss and you really want to wind them up...
Demand one,It's your right! Get a list of questions, company finances, shares, pension,MC closures,DO mergers,VR's,managers bonuses, the odd bit of s**t here the odd bit of s**t there.
Then have another one a week later for the answers.
Message to lurking managers...
