Is any body else getting problems with uniform supply. have tried various methods of requesting replacement uniform all without success. just recieved footwear 5 months after 1st request some been waitin longer,no sign of any uniform, my blue shirts are a yellow/ faded blue colour and frayed to holes in part some of my uniform is 4 years old . but today was the icing. it was like a scene from the veitnam war, i told my line manager that after this week my shirts in particular are u/s , he then led me to a room with a couple of yorks full of either ex or dead posties uniforms shirts, coats, jackets etc ,he pointed to it all and said help yourself [ if any of it fits]. guess what nothin of any use the odd shirt might of but as it was in need of a wash i left, so im gonna buy a really corny lookin hawian shirt some really bright 80s style shorts and flip flops and turn up for delivery next week.

What footwear you wearing m8,last week our dom was walking around checking what we had on our feet, anyone wearing non royalmail issue were asked to explain why and also told if they had a slip or fall it would be down to them, and could in some circumstances lead to dismisal.

6 weeks.....i was nearly 4 months and all I got was some crappy snow chains!! No Shoes/Trainers etc, did keep seeing new uniform in the office and the 'runners' and/or 'managers pets' coming out with yet more new uniform. Got through 2 pairs of trainers in that time

Correct me if i'm wrong.......isn't the Shoes classed as your Protective Clothing?? Have a slip and claim against the buggas

On a 3 month contract, haven't been given any uniform except a hi viz vest. Just bought some plain cheap polos from primark and wear shorts and a pair of walking boots I had (which have actually held up very well and are very comfortable). Actually don't mind cos if I make a mistake on delivery it looks like its my first day

I had to wait till I'd been in the job 6 months before I could order uniform. Ordered it as soon as the 6 months was up and haven't had a problem getting it.

I nagged the manager a few times, no joy, then nagged his stand-in while he was on holiday - the uniform magically appeared within a week! (this was about 6 weeks after my start date) A few weeks later another new starter came after me had his uniform arrive within 2 weeks of his start date - would you believe it, he quit less than a week later, said he couldn't hack it! Some people, eh?!

i can't even get through to speak to anyone in a morning, my shoes were so warn at the back i've had to just bin them, the only time i got to speak to anyone was in afternoon when i had finished my walk and then i couldn't order anything cause didn't have my manager with me!!!

It really is shocking how RM treats new workers everyone should get RM issue shoes on day one as previously stated its a health and safety issue.

I didn't get any uniform for around 6 weeks but reading my contract it says Royal Mail are suppose to supply you with shoes pretty much right away everything else you can order later once you have decided you are staying or not.

Also can I point out how rubbish the shoes are anyway. A few times I have had slips (not falling over) but lost my footing on drive ways of old houses that just have a slab of concrete going down hill or ones that have those terracotta tiles out the front bloody lethal.

" if our dom was to do that there wouldnt be many posties left to deliver mail, after all its not thru choice we want the stuff, i would say 50% of our office doesnt have r/m uniform,i dont even know the era the last shirts i was given are from , one of my mail bags is blue and red. another is sand i actually saw one like it on a episode of the good life ! ive not seen hide nor hair of the new uniform"

what size are you they had a fair few on one of those yorks ,they are in need of a wash and airing i dont think the previous owner lasted long or i dunno .
