No Reversing!!!!

i heard a rumour that management safety committees are looking into ways where we can drive around our duties with little or no reversing. Apparntly this is the highest cause of accidents!!

I certainly hope they put in drive through parking spaces everywhere (including the DOs).

Reversing doesn't cause accidents - lack of observation will though regardless of what direction the vans going.

It's all to do with no back windows and bigger blind spots

Is there a reason (apart from cost) that there couldn't be windows in the rear of the vans with a roller shutter just inside the back doors behind the windows. That way the shutter could be rolled up when driving for a rear view and pulled back down after grabbing the parcel/pouches etc out when leaving the van to go and deliver.

If people can't reverse a van without having an accident they should'nt be on the road

Makes sense to me.
Just imagine how many accidents there would be if people started walking backwards on their duty.
It would be madness and carnage.

Just wait until winter. All these p&l drivers who have little or no experience of driving on snow or ice being forced to do so. Cant wait to see the accident bill !!! Never mind it saving money somewhere. Or so they keep telling us.
