Do I have to work overtime?

If you have a Saturday contract - you only HAVE to work that day.
Wherever you are obviously has staffing problems and you are being asked to work overtime.
If you don't want the overtime, you don't have to do it. A quiet word with your manager should put a stop to the phone calls.
It may be that towards the end of the summer the overtime will dry up.
If when you go back to college you wish to continue with the Saturday contract, why would they fire you?

Well I got a Saturday job as a postman. I'm contracted for 8 hours a week however they ring and text me every single day apart from Sunday asking me to come in. Should I just buy a £50 phone card and text back no everyday for the next 6 months?

Also do I have to work the overtime? I went in everyday last week and to be honest it was horrible. I had only been out on my own 1 day and yet they sent me to different post offices in places I've never heard of with no map or anything. Well to be honest one of the managers at one of those post offices was really nice and helped sort the letters and bag it all up in order. He spent about 1-2 hours working with me so that was nice of him

Anyways I'll be starting collage again in September so will they basically fire me once I tell them?

just like clash says you need only work your contracted hours,no more no less UNLESS YOU WANT TO.
on a more pedantic note you would think that anyone going to college would have the ability to spell it!!!!!

Haha yea I should have the ability to spell it. I did a city and guilds course but I took a year break to work a full time job. Not much spelling involved in electrical work

Stick to your guns and develop your skills to become an electrician. I have done 2 years and find it hard to do this course part time and work full time as postman. Couldn't do it in the end. It is hard to remember every little things and do it perfectly and in order. It need to be 100% all the time.
