Answer to the original question is.................who knows, if your office needs drivers then I'm sure you'll be driving but really trying to figure out what's going on in your managers head is like trying to catch moonbeams............fun to speculate over but just impossible to actually do

To drive for RM is not a right and will be at the discretion of your manager. 
We had a guy a while back with this very problem and he simply had to re-take the RM driving test and has been doing collections for the past 7 years without any problems.

We have a few of them guys at our depot . They come in in the morning reeking of that crabby smelly alcohol, but nothings ever said or reported. Makes me sick. The only time they do anything about anything is when something drastic happens. And even then it's a two minute rule!!!
