F'ed after P&L

Been doing P&L for a week now. Completely f'ed. Never been so knackered in my 6 years. It is a complete nightmare. Most rounds are 6 loops, most people are done in by loop 5. Got some in the office which are 7 loops, even 1 which is 8!!! (2000 DP). Not supposed to be more than 40 mins a loop. Best i have found so far is 58 mins(RF time that is!). They are all impossible to do. At the quietest time of the year they are just about getting done on Mon & Tues. Roll on the busy times.

Using the trolley cripples my back, in absolute agony to be honest, but that is what RF want, so i use it. Dont think it will be too long before i am off sick. Still get the usual idiots chasing time by coming in early and using bags on the shoulder. Dont think they will ever learn.

Today, (sat) did not finish until 3pm!! Went to bed, did not wake until 8pm. When am i supposed to do anything of mine?

PS some parts of the office have been doing this for 9 weeks & they feel the same. Wake up RF & listen to your workforce.

Told them from next week i will only work to my time & will no longer work my day off. Why put myself through the agony in my back for a few extra quid. Let them cope, its what they are paid for.

I think you must be in my office, totally pissed off and tired workforce.
One guy has broken his ribs using the trolley and has been off nearly 2 weeks....had it in front of him when walking down a hill. I know he should'nt of done it but we all have.

Welcome to your new job !! and nobody gives a dam about you sadly the problem is this was all done with useless planners and all on a computer without going out on the routes and physically doing / walking them . it has made me sick and i feel sick since the changes - we all knew change was coming and its fair to say we all dont mind losing the docket days etc to keep jobs safe and also build a future but this work load is TOO much and not copeable nor good for our health - why has nothing been done and tested ?? union not getting involved and managers not caring ? ive given up on here as to be fair some people dont seem to mind or defend RM all the time so tonight i have decided to make this my last post and like the job it seems it really and sadly is the last post and time to move on if your not happy - like someone said on here incapacity benefit is a lot less than being able to work elsehere - THINK about that one people , the work loads are pretty much double now or triple so if ypu had bad knees / back etc then how long can you cope ? i sign off thanking all the friends i have made on here and also to the advice and laughs shared !! thank you eveyone - i wanted to post this as a new post but dont remember how too ?? take care and the future can only be what YOU make it

Welcome to our world, the union let this crap come in in my office a few years ago (by EA) and now everybody is going to suffer inc. those in London. Get used to deliveries that are too long and knees/backs/feet/arms/wrists etc. going.

This is what we are getting in our D.O too, seasoned lads and lasses coming back knackered. Its a good job the CWU came through so well with their carefully researched fatigue policy, imagine what these people would be like if there wasnt such strict guidlines!

its the same all over with this bright idea ,and as a for social life its a joke and 2 in a van will get kicked into touch when the company gets sold on , im hoping i get paid off when it comes.

Being relatively new to RM and going in later than the others in my office I miss out on the meetings etc.. and I have no idea what this P&L is, could someone explain it? I think in October we are getting the walk sort machine or something and I over heard people talking about 2 to a van.

yes 2 share a van with 2 1/2 rounds ,packets,tracked,specials and about 5 hrs to deliver it all in, its a nightmare oh more bullying from doms to complete oh and i forgot walk lapsing mon,tues,sat but wont pay o/time if you go over. thank the cwu

Started our P&L 3 weeks ago, I too am knackered, I love the new trolleys, make sure you pull them and not push, they are the biggest own goal the royal mail have ever scored, it takes so long with a trolley that I end up cutting off, but there is no incentive for me to not use the trolley as it will only mean I might get the round completed just.
