Deputy Manager

Post by Broxi51 »

In our area they are recruiting for deputy managers.
The position involves covering a managers day off for which you will get paid £20 per day.
If you cover for the week then you will get £100.
The rest of the time you will be doing your normal postal work
I heard that 8 positions were available. 13 posties showed an interest but only 3 applied :left:
I cannot believe anyone would want that hassle for £20
The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.

Very true benson.
You're either one...or the other.
Trusted by your mates...not likely...Welcome at union meetings?....not likely.
Strike call....on the gate?...and piss your new chums off?...not likely :whistle
We all know the kind of people who will go for these jobs...
If people want to move into management i have no problem with that....good luck to them but if they think they can bounce back and forth and nothing changes....dream on.

The people who go for these jobs, are the ones that find being a postman has become harder and impossible.

As soon as they are on their own then the lapsing shite will fail and it's up to them to get it done.
Same goes if they try to take someone into the office for anything. Nobody will take them seriously
and will walk out if they try any disciplinary shite. And all for £20

Used to be 30 pieces of silver! :whistle Just goes to show why the Business' Problems will not go away when they're employing such low paid Management. Perhaps these Big City firms have a point when they say they've got to pay Big Bucks to get the best Men at the Top. :hmmmm We pay Big Bucks and get Dickheads (or the female equivalent) :arrrghhh

I think i respect the deputies even less! Before i though they just did it for a big pay check. Honestly what type of person would take that kind of job for an extra £20-30?! :confused

So one isn't intending to make it a life changing thing then  thought with all the experience you'd gain the head hunters would be out in droves looking for ex royal fail managers :hmmmm
the fact you would become a door mat is secondary to having the respect of you workmates :arrrghhh
