When I am in Venice last week all the delivery in town have to be done via boat and then a poor delivery man with a cart carrying the goods for shops or business or whatever over bridge with steps and narrow streets. They can't use a van as there is no roads or room for cars.

I would love to see what Royal Mail will do to a place like Venice for delivery. LOL.

The walking partner gets Aqualungs whilst the driver gets a snorkel fitted - the driver will be allowed 21.7 seconds to fit and maintain it. Should the walker expire it will be up to the driver to recover said walker again 67.5 to 90.4 seconds is allotted for this task and weight of the walker should be noted and allowances made within the allotted time.

Instead of a golf trolley each deliver officer/swimmer will be given a lilo to which he can tie up to 10kg of mail.

Red swimming caps must be worn to distinguish RM swimmers from DHL/USP and other courier swimmers.

New standard issue trunks will include a handy pen pouch located at the rear.

To keep your signing card or PDA dry extra large rubber bands will be issued that will enable you to strap these to your head.

With sea levels rising and brilliant ideas like this , I could see you being promoted and put in charge of implementing modernisation 2040 :chuckle . There again by 2040 RM might just have perfected our current modernisation programme , so lets not jump the gun.

I also saw an Italian lady delivering post in Venice and she is not wearing an uniform for Italian postal company. Poste Italian or something.
