New development in the process of being built around 40 houses/apartments. Where should it be allocated ? The round it lies closest to is big enough, but other walks border it/overlap, again big enough.
Lots of bickering in the office at the moment, just wondered if any one had some 1st hand experience of this and ways to appease everyone with a fair solution !

I'm under the impression that if it's UNDER 50 dwellings it can be absorbed by the nearest round(or a suitable round nearer),anything over that becomes an incident.

AT ours for a 40 extra - we would add it to the nearest duty and then if the duty goes over either lapse the new part (using drivers) or rehash the duties near to it.
For Instance
The closest gets the 40
The next closest gets 30 from the one that got 40
Then another gets 20 off the 30
then another gets 10 off the 20.
or the 2 neighbouring duties to the 40 get 15 each from the 40.
This way all the rounds get a minimal amount added - however it does mean a lot of work as its basically a mini revision and the walk logs, OPALs, locker etc all need to be changed.

It's a storm in a tea cup really beacause I bet once its built it would only take 10 mins to deliver ! But each and every one of us are reluctant to take extra on willingly and its become a bit petty really. Thanks for the input

So what do you do when a development has just been approved (150 properties) and it straddles two large rounds which struggle to complete on time as it is?

New development in our office is "out of budget" until a revision.
That means it goes into the overtime pot no matter how many calls.
A random brick constitutes new development...no-one touches it.
I resisted 14 flats for three years until our 2010 revision.

I assume as a new development it will have a new seperate postcode.
If it nicks a postcode closest to it then that round will get the new houses as they wont be able to split the code.
