if /when we are sold off how long before our new owners start changing the terms and conditions of our contracts

As soon as the ink is dry ..................... or never. My guess is somewhere in between but to be honest it will be difficult to give any reasonable timescale because we don't know who is going to buy us or even if we will be sold or floated yet.

I am of the same opinion as you - TUPE is written into the new Postal Act and as far as I can see all current T&Cs stay as they are and changes to contracts are to be discussed with the employees or their representatives. My guess is that as soon as the new business has settled in then they will start to see how much they can get away with through the CWU, and through the loopholes prevalent in TUPE.

I've posted this elsewhere but here goes again;
The new owners of RM will offer a lump sum to change our T & C's, probably £2-£3000.
All those short sighted colleagues out there (we all know them) will vote yes in a ballot and there you go, we're screwed!
