Transfer advice please

If I accept a transfer and say it was 20 miles away from my preferred office can I stay on the list to transfer untill I am in my preferred office or do I have to stay there for a certain amout of time.

So you've been offered a position at an office which is not your preferred choice but want to use it as a stopgap until a position becomes available at the office where you want to go.

Have a word with both doms at offices, i can't see why they wouldn't work a way around this if it's a genuine case. It's usually a year though i think after transfering to a new office.
