lapsing again

we have resumed this crazy practise yet again
i have no problem with working to time and taking out extra when time allows
so my question this morning and at tmrrw wtl will be if we are forced sorry requested to take more out on quieter days should we not be taking out less on busy days .

seriously we are bullied and harrased, tested ,mail counted, patrolled if we refuse to lapse and at the other end of the scale quizzed if your late, underperforming , fraudulant docket claims.
if we say we cant finish on time there should be rules set in stone to protect us not to let uneducated line mgmt bully and harrase people into working ot if they need more hours to complete job so be it put them in
in any other modern country these methods of work practises would be deemed criminal and illegal so what are union doing to protect us. the whole jobs going backwards im afraid

We do it 48 weeks of the year. They want us too take more when the summer comes! Some rounds will be taking 3 lapsed bits.

This is a difficult one,it depends on when you are expected/requested to lapse??
is it just on a Monday/Tuesday..the historically quieter days,or is it all week?
whatever,the only criteria is just work your paid hours,so essentially take more if time permits,but you shouldn't have to worry about taken any on the busier days/later in the week.

we laps every day of the week, mail is dying off. so we get told on a dail basis, but we all knew the day, we started getting our figures on the amount of mail from m.c. it was gonna be down. more royal mail lies, we should weigh everything that comes in the office for a month. see if they are the same as mail centre figures. but told by manager "we aint got no need to do this" plus aint got the time BULL s**t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lapsing is only meant to be done, "IF you can do it in your allocated duty time". If it's going to take you over your Duty time then you don't have to do it. I think most DIMs rely on Posties not knowing this and just putting up with it.

Our DIM has said he's under pressure over his budget and he wants all the PTers to come in later and just do Delivery Only. In the next breath he's said he wants to start lapsing half a dozen duties! Hopefully our Rep will tell him to Foxtrot-Oscar!

IMO if you're lapsing duties then it's an indication that you've got too much work, and there's an argument to employ more staff, or make PTers up to FT! We're still Pre-Revision and fighting to get "Do-Able" duties!

If you all came in at the right time,took your breaks,and went out on the vans lapsing/absorbing would be harder for RM after Tuesdays.

The idea 'was' for you all to be on a van,you get taken to where the lapsing is done and when you've finished you get taken to where your walk starts.

I realise that a lot of offices are different but it's easy for us to make it not work............................but then you would have to 'work to time'.

Oh and if you have to regularly cut off because they are forcing it on to you,it should be flagged to your branch who 'should' kick up a stink.
