Reduction in available OT?

Our linos seem to have become even more stingy with paying you for going over on busy days. Used to be you had to beg and harrass the linos and eventually with some effort they would give it to you but now it seems to be getting a lot worse for some reason. If you do get them to admit they owe you sometime back they seem to be sending us home early or giving us extra days off instead of paying out the money. Anyone else noticed a change in attitude at your DO?

Please no 'grow a pair' or 'just work your hours' responses!

Just interested to see if this is just our DO getting worse or RM wide cuts.

Yes - in the past we had a word with the Lineo about claiming docket now we have to go to the DOM. Only way people can get docket now is when their are uncovered walks or cut offs and they will only give the hours you actually work - result not many volunteering as the OT rate is so bad, especially for PTs. In fact even those who grabbed it before are turning it down now.

Perhaps we should introduce RM managers to Karma and Casuality (no not Casualty).

Yup, pretty much the same here.... first its the almost complete refusal to pay O/T then when it becomes obvious that its warranted then its a 'come in 30 minutes later tomorrow' etc It pretty much fits in with the current were in cut throat business not a who cares monopoly

ive had this too, and been told to come in 30mins later the next day,

does that work? nope.. you will still be atleast 30mins over the day after as the get nobody to cover the work whilst your not there

any point in that? haha

In our office it is cyclical.
Purge the overtime until the arse falls out of the quality figures.
Throw money at the quality until the arse falls out of the office budget.
It's been like that for years but it has got worse since the revision as the office default position is closer to failure.
It's the future so i'm told.

now we have to go to the DOM

This seems to be happening slowly at our office as well which is not a good sign!

What worries me most is our revision goes live over the next few months. From the stories ive read on here even a revision that works seems to need a lot of OT for it to bed in properly. Iam not sure how they expect the change over to go well if they are not prepared to pay anyone properly!
