Whether RM have replied to questions set by CWU HQ or not is irrelevant, the membership should not tolerate yet another bout of 'behind closed doors discussion'. I went up to the National Briefing over the issue of the new Business Plan etc and learnt nothing more than what was already in the public domain. It is getting tiresome and frustrating to be denied this revamped RM Business Plan. Why all the secrecy? It is not too distant in the memory of members as to what happened at the end of of 2010. Has HQ learnt nothing from the manner in which the dispute and subsequent Agreement was handled and presented to the membership?

Yes, BT 2010 should have been the deal to end all deals, but sadly it was not to be! Reps like myself found it difficult to sell the deal to members in the first place, and even now RM (and my DOM) are still putting different interpretations on the Pay&Mod as well at BT2010. Yes, we can go to disagreement over every issue and go through the IR Framework, but the process takes too long and members get frustrated and give in leaving Reps to fight issues on their own. Members have lost faith and trust in Div Reps and above to a large degree. The level of co-operation required at Div Rep level, and above, to make recent Agreements work(?) did not inspire confidence in the membership and has led to Div Reps etc being isolated and left in 'no man's land'!

If CWU HQ intends on fighting RM over the revamped Business Plan, Colleague Shares, Revisions, Pensions, etc, etc it will take more than mere words to rally the membership. Action will always speak louder than words, so put ALL the information out to the wider membership and not hide behind confidentiality clauses, the PEC, Conference, etc .. let the membership see what all the fuss is about, let the membership evaluate the information and feedback their opinion through local Reps, Area Reps, Branch meetings, etc.

It is time that the membership won back the CWU for itself, and told HQ this is what WE WANT and not tolerate what HQ thinks we want!

their first plan reduced mail centres from 63 to 46 the new plan reduces it to 30. RDCs to 3 and new plans for delivery offices.
