yes that sounds about right from them , lets go on strike and loose more money for a worthless piece of share paper which dont exist , but then in our office with p&l for 7 mths and its a f**king nightmare with the new duties are totally impossible with the input and times these idiots agreed to , oh no £1000 as yet and we havent seen the rep for about 7mths since this was brought in, union paided leave (surprise) so i dont think ill be supporting and looseing money to support them again.

CWU did nothing about dsa, and yes the previous strikes have not achieved anything but getting us to deliver d2ds for next to nothing.
The only thing that happens is cost cutting on an annual basis, employees pissed off, fewer people on ips.
Managers trying to achieved unrealist targets and getting bonuses.
We were not given a vote on cycle helmets and wearing orange bibs on hot days.

And what was it exactly the CWU were supposed to do about DSA? CWU has been speaking out against DSA/regulation set up since it first started. It is not the fault of Billy and Dave etc if the powers that be didnt listen/didnt agree.

A branch ballot was taken on Cycle hats and high vis so the rep for each office should have organised a meeting and show of hands vote and pass the outcome upwards. That happened in my D.O but nobody turned up

Not go to bed with the party that introduced it? They could have gave the dough to support the Greens at the last election!

The relationship with Labour must have had some bearing on calling off the strikes during negotiations on 2010 Beyond,
but old habits die hard and some people think Labour will change again and re introduce clause 4 or something

It's not always about the result Daz.
Sometimes it's just about the fight and the message fighting sends to the membership.
If we are only going to fight when we know we will win....we might as well hand in our cards and save the £3.11.

All we appear to have is a union that has sold us down the river to get us in this mess. They spend more time drinking coffee with the manager and not speaking to the staff(every union person we have had anyway). I voted no and everyone who i spoke to said no on this deal. They said originally to us this is the best deal yet apparently- even the pay rise will not be good that the union promised due to the delivery suppliment going after 2 years i have been told and x amount of door to doors on top. What has happened to a proper going on and customer been at the top of our priority list- I'm getting paid less then when i started with this. In a meeting even the union bloke was backing up the royal mail manager- whats going on? The public should be given a better understanding of whats going on rather than the Royal Mail manager view thats seen in the paper and this so called pay rise rubbish. The public would realise how bad things are if we are privatised- with price and quality. Get managers that have been a postman/postwoman for longer than 3 weeks like it was when Royal Mail meant something. I have had enough with the manager culture and bonuses for them for nothing apart from messing up a firm, that if run by posties and others below management would have a future who have some common sense.
