Following publication of The building blocks for a sustainable postal service – Initial proposals for regulatory safeguards document on 01 April 2011,(http://www.psc.gov.uk/consultations/201 ... safeguards" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) I am writing to invite you to participate in a workshop on Long Run Incremental Costing (LRIC), which will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 04 May.

We have previously communicated that Postcomm will host the second of its workshops on the initial proposals for regulatory safeguards between 12:30 and 14:30 on Wednesday 04 May. The LRIC workshop will follow so that it is convenient for those attending the main session. It is expected that the LRIC workshop will run from approximately 14:45 to 16:00. We will be providing more detail on our discussion of LRIC as set out in April. This will include why LRIC is of interest to the regulator and the choices that will need to be considered when estimating LRIC.

The workshop is open to all, although postal operators are likely to have the greatest interest. The workshop will give you an opportunity to ask questions and give initial feedback on our thinking. Following the workshop, the presentation materials will be published on our website for those who have an interest but are not able to attend.
