Had polling cards arrive in today for Scottish elections which we will get paid for,apparently. Memo was later pinned on signing on desk stating that all other election material was now incorporated into workload and to be delivered as d2d,and no additional payments would be given! Yep,this deal just gets better and better!

Memo is bull.... Payments are 6p per item - addressed items delivered over 3 days, unaddressed over 7 days. This is the agreement as it applies to KA/DG, some areas have different methods of payment. But payments are due.

Queried that FT,apparently if election material comes in as a d2d it is not to be paid,i presume that means if it has a bit of strapex round it and a duty number on it! I wonder if Royal Mail will be contacting election candidates touting it's d2d service,cut out the middle man(or posties payment in this case)

Ps... Memo wasn't printed up by the manager,who to be fair has always been very honest and open with us about things that matter!

we did polling cards today, and were told that times the amount of slots times by 2.5 , so my walk 550 times 2,5 times the 3.5p they said we would get makes £48 lets just see if we get it, linos even came round with a sheet to sign and how many we delivered.

Election Material 2011 – Poll Cards

Following discussions with Royal Mail last week regarding the above we have now reached an agreed position that we hope will enable the successful delivery of election material and in particular Poll Cards. In simple terms all poll cards will be paid for at the rate per item applicable to the delivery unit, in line with the national agreement covering the delivery of election material. It is hoped that this will remove local disagreements/disputes which prevailed in some areas last year regarding which poll cards were covered by unit payment and which went into normal workload as all items are covered by the unit payment.

CWU Reps will need to be aware that the poll cards will have to be delivered in line with their product specification.

Similar advice has also been communicated to Royal Mail Regional Planning Managers and a copy of that advice is attached to this LTB for reference purposes.

Referendum material will need to be dealt with through local discussions to ensure suitable arrangements are in place to deal with the associated workload and any weight on delivery, replenishment and/or storage issues.

Not 100% accurate - 95% but not 100%.

3. There will be no candidate mail for the AV referendum. It is likely we will make a Door To Door delivery of an information leaflet during week commencing 4 April. We might also have normal letters posted by the ‘yes’ and ‘no’ campaigns. These normal letters and the Door To Door mail don’t attract unit payment.

So any election material that comes in as a D2D contract, or addressed to residents does not attract an allowances.

This DOES NOT include election material which the Boss may bring round to the frame - to not qualify for the payment it has to have a D2D reference - if it doesn't we get paid.

First election material came in for delivery next week in our office, its come in as a d2d so its no payment to us! Bollocks!

How can poll cards that come in with peoples names and addresses on, be classed as d2d, it all seems absurd to me, i believe some managers are taking penny pinching to new levels, we've delivered ours over 2 days should have been 1 but for some reason they came in a day too early and like other offices we had to double them at 3pm per item. for offices that are told they are not getting paid you should get your union rep and manager together and tell them no payment no delivery.

Our first election material has come in ready for next week. To my great surprise, it has come as a d2d. I think I will also be very surprised when the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and umpteenth lots of election material also arrive as d2ds. I mean, honestly, why would our caring employer deceive us in such a way? I'm sure this is pure coincidence.
