more satudays off

have been told if we get more satudays off we will have to work a 10 hour saturday (on delivery) to make up for the extra people being off is there a limit on the hours we can be made to work on a sat is anybody actually doing this would be grateful for info

Quite a lot of people in my office fancied this when it came up as an option with our revision until they found out that they would have to cover part of another delivery as extra on the other 3 saturdays to make it work. i'm guessing if your able to have a 10 hour day mon to fri then sat is the same!!

1 in 6 saturdays off, after annual equates to 7.6 sats a year off
1 in 4 saturdays equates to 11.5 consider is it worth all that extra work for an extra 4 saturdays a year?

Saturdays for reserves are only for emergency. I have been waiting for a fair share on Saturdays to be a matter of course which, it of course never will be. Also been told Spare days of annual leave are not to include saturdays.

I had to vote for working system this week and look at the options.

I went for 1 in 2 saturdays duty which means 1 week Saturday next week monday off every fortnight. Perfect for Salsa Party animal, student and football fan. Don't know the outcome of vote.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

FFS Postman, you should know by now that RM managers sh1t on everyone and will do anything to get the post out without them having to do it.

Never happened that the reserves got Saturdays in my office and from what it looks like many other offices, all we're told is 'operational' needs when we bring it up, it may happen in you office but not in many others (which would lead some people to start going on about London getting everything whilst the rest of us get shafted :wink: but not me :angel ).

I was talking to a reserve from another office today who had 43 tuesdays off last year. :cuppa
