Was expecting a packet from Amazon 2 weeks ago. Our driver tried to deliver it but I was at work, so he brought it back as he thought he'd see me in the office. Must have just missed him, as I went out on delivery and so he left it on top of my frame. My frame is tucked away around the corner out of the way in our own little room for our district and only the guys from our district have any business being there. Came in the next morning and the driver told me he'd left it for me on my frame but when I looked, it wasn't there.
Checked all around the office and in the caller's office but looks like it was stolen off my frame. Still no sign of it, so obviously stolen.
What nice people I work with. Not the first time I might add! I hung a calendar next to my frame last Christmas with personal photos of my family and myself on it. Next day it was gone. Who would want a calendar with me on it is kinda strange to me!!
I have of course reported the theft but whether my manager bothers to carry out the report is something else. I did get a refund from Amazon but find it quite sad that someone you work with does this. I know it's not the guys I work with and I have my suspicions but that's all they are.
What April said, remember that there are loads of CCTV cameras in all the offices so all they have to do is pull the video and look who went to your frame.

Very strange, surely the 'thief' knew it was your packet. Are you sure an idiot manager did not look at your frame and noticed a packet not for your 'walk'. Before you scoff it HAS happened at our DO.
The proper procedure to cover HIS back would have been to notice left it and return it to the callers office. Again, an idiot manager could in theory conduct the driver for not following procedure when you report it.
I know it's not the guys I work with and I have my suspicions but that's all they are.
Bit of advice for you, you NEVER know who the thief is until it's revealed by investigations. I have been shocked a few times.

Happens here too. We've been told that if we take any piece of mail out that's for us, us personally, it's still theft and we could be sacked for it. Also we are not supposed to leave any personal items on the frame.
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?

We have to obtain a signature (and obviously permission) from a manager if we wish to take out personal mail/packages. The manager will then sign on the mail/packages to prove clearance.

We went through a spell a few years back where things went missing I lost a really nice Roberts personal radio and others lost money etc.
Then a younger postie crashed his car causing a bad injury to a cyclist and was found to be three times over the limit He ended up getting 3 months in prison. He resigned before they could sack him and funny enough all the theft stopped over night .
Its been fine ever since but i dont leave anything of value laying around on my frame.

The manager said he'd actually seen the packet on my frame and all my colleagues know me, so would have left it alone. I do suspect the cleaner, as no one else had any business going there but as I said, just a suspicion. That would be just about the only person in the office who didn't know it was for me.

Forget who you think it might be robin...it could have been anyone and to be honest a little unfair on the cleaner if the only reason to suspect them is because they didn't know it was yours.
You've had a lesson in just how low some people will stoop,chalk it up to experience and move on.
Yes, you're right fishtank. I think the annoying thing is that it's not the first time something's gone missing from our district, yet nothing's been done about it. Another case of managers drinking too much coffee?
