how to get a reference?

my brother was working for RM few yrs ago til the mail centre he was at closed down (oxford)

has not been able to find work since....anyway he may have found something but how does he go about getting a reference?

i asked my rep but he just said to look on the website ,my bro couldnt see anything on there

also i asked my manager, he said to call one of the numbers on the back of my pay slip...im guessing the HR services?

Employers want my brother to provide a phone number or postal address for a reference.

any advice?

I think hr will have no problem with your request. they dont have to know your bro personally
to confirm his employment details.
Well done him for persevering with the employment search.

Be prepared to chase the reference up. Pond st are REALLY slow in dealing with them. Waited on them for nearly 5 months now to confirm my start date and finish date with rm. Luckily my new firm are understanding and all they want in black and White is the proof.
