Advice Please

Hi everyone,

I've just been offered a new job and wondering if anyone can tell me how much notice i have to give.....dont know if its relevant to how much notice i will have to give but i been working for RM for just over 2.5 years.

just walk into the office and tell him to shove his job, after you smack him one in the month. That should be enough notice!!!!!!!!!!!! (only joking)

My vote is take out days mail, shuffle said mail then phone manager and tell him your unable to complete and where to find the mail! Then change your number and never go in again! Or print some stickers and redirect ALL your mail to the DOM

Work your week's notice and leave on as good terms as possible.
You never know what the future holds.

I reckon 80% of the posties WOULD do something nasty if they got a better job and knew they would never return .

The mixing up the mail and phoning the DOM is quite funny .

Personally I would phone up and tell em im not coming back . Nothing nasty as they are actually quite good in our office .

Why didn't I ask for your advice when I left last week!! All the posties I met/talked to were good blokes/gals, but my LINO was an arse most of the time(Could be due to pressure but not my problem) Ask your LINO if he wants you 2 take another walk out on o/t too then do the above

But, as also mentioned, if you may need R.M in the future,work through your notice(But depending on LINO, you may have a week of shite walks!)

I wouldn't even do that, in fact, if I won an obscene amount, I'd carry on working for a few months after before I hand my notice in ( I'd stop all overtime straight away & start seeing anger management to stop me slapping a gaffer over those few months though )

I've always thought the only reason you gave notice was to make sure all your paperwork (i.e P45) was ready for your new job, and you had a final payment of all your owed holiday etc payed up to date.

I agree it's probably a good idea to leave on good terms in case you want to return, but why not take your last week as holiday? I suppose RM are worried that you will upset the precise and accurate running of your Office seeing as they're usually so well organised.
