now a rep help

now a rep in a divided office (poison chalice) cant sit back and let the sh*t roll down anymore... been a postie over 10 yrs and seen the the job go from a service to a shambles.......who are the reps on this forum that i can contact (pm) and get advice when in conflict with the dom ...also any training available for reps "rule's regs etc" dont want the dom runnind rings round us anymore

It's not a good idea to let your DOMs find out who you are on here, as they'll often try to find something you've posted, to use against you. Particularly if your a Rep, who's standing up to them. But there's nothing stopping Reps PMing Mrdeeds, rather than posting on the Forum. That's no doubt why Mrdeeds wants to PM for advice on anything which could "out" her. Although hopefully, he'll post any useful info on the Forum too, but just minus the specifics, which could identify her. Because this sort of info, has been incredibly helpful to many of us, over the years.

It is the policy of the CWU that all our representatives undertake the mandatory 1 day equality and diversity training course as soon as practical after being elected or appointed to their role. This is a one day course (or a two day course in Northern Ireland) and can also be delivered online.

This is an introductory and awareness raising course and it covers:

Stereotyping
Equality - Myths and realities
CWU structures for Equality
Developing strategies for Equality in the CWU
This course is designed to ensure that everyone gets the chance to participate fully through working in small groups, taking part in group discussions, role play and practical exercises. You do not need to have any qualifications or previous experience to attend this course.

RELEASE

Please note that this course attracts PAID RELEASE from BT, Openreach, Virgin Media, Parcelforce, Post Office Limited, ROMEC, O2 and Royal Mail Group. If you are unsure about whether you are entitled to release for this course, please refer to our fact sheet.

On his Diversity Training my oppo, an old squaddie, had to provide all the "Wrong ways to address someone......" examples. I think the Female Trainer wished she'd never asked him. She'd never been so embarressed in her life as most of the examples were actually physically impossible!
