Confirmation of sick record?

Is it possible for me to get a confirmation of my sick record? ie what stage im on if any etc. If so who do i contact for this info?

just phone HR Services /payrole the number is on the back of your payslip they will tell you the date your all clear

they maybe wan to know if an AOD has been counted towards the sick record or similar
edit: just checked,HR wont/cant give out info on sick,stages etc now
has to be done via your manager

Ours refuses on the (unfortunately correct!) basis that 95% of people ask because they're wondering if they can go for a sickie without triggering a stage!

I phoned HR earlier today and they couldn't tell me what stage I was on and told me to ask my DOM for a copy of my sick absence.

i woud raise a grievance if they refused
they are the only method of getting that information now that HR wont supply it
there are many genuine reasons to ask. eg if you require an operation then a difference of a few days could see you getting/not getting a stage
or you could delay it until its possible(dependent on the reason of course)

Under the Data Protection Act, your DOM has no choice, but to give you the info. If he/she refuses, just send a letter to him/her, making a formal request for the information, along with a fee of up to £10 (you'll need to check what RM charge for these requests, as it does vary). If your DOM still refuses, or you don't get any reply within 40 days. Then you need to send a reminder letter. If you STILL don't recieve the information, then you can request that the Data Protection Registrar, performs an assessment of their Data Protection compliance. And if they aren't complying, it can result in a Court case against RM.

It's worth noting however, that this is different to a Freedom of Information request. Because it's for personal information about yourself. So it's MUCH harder for them to justify a refusal to provide the info. The Data Protection Act is a wonderful thing, at times.
