Annual Leave at Christmas

Just wondering how many weeks are blanked out for christmas pressure this year in your office?

Got our holiday sheets out this week and 6 weeks are blanked out compared to the normal 4? Is this right? No holidays are allowed week commencing Monday 28th November and ending Friday 7th January.
Which would also mean our spares would have 6 weeks on xmas pressure!

In our DO we've only ever not been able to book the 3 weeks before xmas but this year they changed it to include the week after xmas as well. They changed it after we'd already booked and been granted our leave tho, so the people who booked the week after xmas had it took back off them.
Supposed to be something to do with amount of people who go sick after xmas.

Our office has been told that every office will no longer be allowed annual leave till the first full week of Jan,that came from the very top and we had our union rep nodding along to the message like that fkn churchill dog in the advert

ditto, all of december is out, both the area rep and his gaffer were present and never said a word, perhaps it is in the "deal of the century".

I got 3 weeks last year . last 1 in Nov and 1st 2 in Dec .

Its normally the 2 week run up to xmas that is blocked. I've just started picking my A/L for next year and every year for the past 7 years I've managed to get the week after xmas.....not this time though

We have been told that due to the high level of sickness in the weeks after Christmas, they may be removed from the usual holiday allocation.
It seems it is happening faster in some areas than in others.
I'm sure they will get to London eventually.........

They tried no annual leave between xmas and new year in my office, my members were not happy, i spoke to my dom and it had come from area level due to high levels of sickness last year.

I negotiated with him and got 50% of the A/L slots put back in

All the bosses will be able to have leave then though, we always get the mong managers for the week after christmas.
