so, im on with learning a new rural round this week and i've been told by the manager that im only getting two days....is this right as it use to be three. can someone please comfirm what the correct number of days actually is.

No rurals at my place but normally we're lucky to get a day for a drive.

yeah we have a coach but in all honesty, he's only doing it for the extra moneys, no heart in the job.......not looking forward to wednesday at all. when i was a postie 10 years ago im sure it was three days training on a rural. how the f**k am i suppose to remember 500 calls that include 300 named houses in a pretty large area that i've never been to in my life, it beggers belief tbh.......

we have always had three days to learn a new rural more if needed. unfortunately i dont know if there are ne fast and hard rules for this. you would think more days learning the rural would equate to a better job done. A coach would nt help as far as i know its called familiarisation when showing an experienced postie a new round as really all the knowledge of how to do the job should already be there.

Its all about saving money.Insist you need another day.If you don't get it,come back 4 hours late with mail for all the houses you couldn't find.

no just work to your time and bring back what can not be done end of it not your fault that you did not get addequate training

I got three days on a rural and I still struggled on my own. It's a monster though, 100+ miles.

That's what I did. I had 3 days training on a rural, 2 weeks apart, with 2 different trainers. The first day on my own I got completely lost, half the houses didn't have any kind of identification on them whatsoever so I ended driving around and stopping when I saw a house, knocked on the door and asked the name of the house then rummaged in the van for their mail.
I haven't been put on that round since.

about 4 years ago i got 4 days training on rural. its crap that they are giving you just a day!!

maybe sit down and study google street view for a few hours, seriously its what i would do !
