return to work after unofficial action

Well i returned to work on Friday eveing to be welcomed back with a 'statement'.
Basically a standard letter was produced, originating in 2003, that withdraws union facility time, rips up the summer staffing aggreements, ends 'job and jack' and aims to make life very uncomfortable. In reality i think Royal Mail hoped we would walk out on unofficial action in order to bring in measures which they probally have wanted to do for years. Chester Mail centre, we are often told, is one of the show piece mail centres. Yet after one day of unofficial action, the first in many years, they seek to introduce what some would desribe as draconian measures. It begs the question what are they planning to do if Leighton and Crozier have their way. What happened tonight only strengtens my resolve. I would advocate that we keep taking 'official' action. I would also add that in any future negotiations that the union hold firm against change.

reminds me of events at our d.o.: one week before the ballot wtl was addressed by visiting regional manager. Thought he'd lay down the law ,no point striking etc. Trouble was he was a bit inadequate and we wiped the floor with him,he nearly got emotional. Strangely the two people who had asked difficult q,s were visited on their walks that day by r.m. security + one other,not to obvious. For both this was a first in 17years +5years
