we are now delivering around 300 track and trace per week, between two drivers, plus 250 specials and two hour dely on top, plus bag drops, and the packets are failing daily, have been asked by the dom why this is? wot should I tell him!!!!

we have the same problem.
our driver simply works his hours and leaves packets.
they were backing up for weeks but they are now being cleared on OT by other drivers.
i dont lie to customers anymore and when asked about parcels i tell them there is a mountain of them in the DO and give them the managers mobile number.

tell him that there is too much to do in your duty time and you are not prepared to bail him out of the s**t anymore.

That works out roughly 9 or 10 packets an hour,

So he can, doesn't have to work anymore hours than he is paid for. What a daft statement that is?

Individually you are doing rougly 15 to 16 items an hour, which doesn't seem that extreme actually

Which the adds credence as to the fact that they cannot do packets, as they would have to do the tracked and specials faster than your figure to do the packets.

All dependent on when you are actually out delivering them and if you convey and if the 2 hour delivery is between 2 of you or 2 hours a piece. Add in all those factors for your potential delivery span.

Don't work through your break mate, according to your workday you're going 7hrs,20mins. without one.
May i suggest you take a break before you commence your walk delivery ?

Tracked are also generally spread out all over town, so there is no way you would deliver as quickly as you would regular parcels over a smaller area.

The real deal here then. It is simple thinking that makes these duties so hard.
No point looking at 5 hours as total packet delivery time. There are businesses to drop, traveling times between your office and the area. pouching off times. It's the mundane stuff that is missed by the planners.

does'nt matter if I take a break(I DONT), figures are still the same. job cannot be done, and they cut hours last year, when I told them it could'nt be done, they will have to put hours back in, but we are all under suspicion of not working properly.. it bloody stinks!!!

Hi Joeboy, don't get stressed mate we're all in the same boat! Just make sure you're doing your job properly, so no-one can have a go at you, cover your arse and go home on time. Simples.
