What the f****** hell is going on?

I'm into my 22nd year as a postie and I've never known the service to be in this much of a shambles!

We have yorks and yorks full of packets/parcels, mail everywhere, vans not fit for purpose, not enough vans to do the job, not enough staff because of the cuts and our management are totally out of their depth!

About 10 of us went in on Sunday to try and get rid of some of the packet/parcel backlog (4 hours docket ). We took a york each, came in this morning to find 12 new yorks. We're treading water!

Some sequenced mail came down about 7.30am. Our DOM already made the decision that we would be sorting until 8am then cut off. He told the driver to take the sequenced mail back because he had nowhere to put it!

Got back off my delivery to find no managers, both offices locked (12.30pm) and I was told they were explaining themselves to the area manager! Probably won't see our DOM tomorrow.

I'm embarrassed, no other word for it! The service is on it's arse! RM and the Goverment want F****** for causing this mess!

I ve never seen it as bad in 22 years As fast as we clear the bank of flats its full again and were fighting an up hill battle. Rolled 16 trays of flats on my walk last week and ended up clearing on sat on OT, not doing that every week

it's not just at your office it's every where... get the feeling it's being deliberately run down so it can be privitised... later this year.... there is a hidden agenda by those at the top, that the posties are not aware of.. this shambles is being co-ordinated to fail........ only time will tell what everyone will have to endure later this year..

I am guessing that your office has had its revision and i see that things are not going according to plan.

Their is a conspiracy theory that royal mail are grinding this job in to the ground so no one can actually do the job properly. Royal mail wants to go private, but not untill every office has had its revision then privatisation begins and who ever takes it over clears up this mess and the private company looks good for the business. What its not good for at this present time is the paying customer, that are not getting the service they paid for. Tracks, specials, letters and d2d are all failing and this is not due to the snow any more but moderisation that is clearly not working.

Managers want this to work and so do the posties but if to much work is getting thrown upon us how the hell can we deliver everything within the time frame, its impossible.

If there is a hidden agenda what could it be ? Senior management buy-out ? Top bosses to get loads of preferential shares ?
Massive final bonuses / golden handshakes ? Provoking industrial unrest or maybe just incompetent management by overpaid jerks.

Is this not telling the Royal Mail something to see York’s of letters, flats, packets etc left in everyday. If Royal Mail has any sense the offices that has not had the revision they should halt it with immediate affect, problem is they don't want show they have cocked up. The planners want shooting. In my office there is one complex with three house names and two posties goes to the one complex..

Nice thought but there are too many docket bashers and not enought people who would be willing to make a stand, Had a go at doing the job properly at our place, we still got the same fools coming in early and then rushing back to take out cut offs. No point calling for any action,we are the union and there are so many numpties prepared to undermine any action
