Hello,
I'm on three month FTC which ends on the 25th January. I've spoken to my line manager and DOM but no noises have been made about extending it. I called the Pay Office but they have not received any instructions. My colleagues just shrug their shoulders and say "don't worry about it, we need the people".
I've done lots of overtime, no sick leave and not even used my weeks holiday. One small balls up with some tracked packets that did not get recorded on the "system", but other than that I think I've done a good job.
Has anyone had a contract renewed recently? I've started applying for other jobs because I don't want to be told "you're out" on the day before it's due to expire!

You should be able to gague what could probably happen by the goings on at your office.
Have you had a revision,are you due one,are you short staffed, are you OVER staffed,have you spoke to the rep there?

We seem to be understaffed as there is always overtime, however I've no idea of the manpower requirements for the quieter times of the year. Pardon my ignorance but what is a "revision" in RM parlance? Is that some kind of review meeting with a manager?

No a revision is when the rejig some or all of the duties in an office.
BTW you can still approach the rep in an unofficial capacity asking for advice etc if he is a good one he should help.

hi im in the same boat as you as well, my 3 months ends on the 26th jan, the other guys in the office just say dont worry they will keep it going, but as you i am unsure and cant get an answer from managers, i think i might ring recruitment and or hr and ask them on my next day off (if i get one as work my rest days !!)
