Delivery Office closures

Does anyone have any idea which delivery offices are due to close under the terms of the agreement?

Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth are interested in campaigning against closures on environmental grounds. It would be interesting to get a complete list. Does anyone know how I would go about that?

Actually I dont recall DO closures being in BT 2010

The national agreement is "Mail Centre Rationalisation" only NOT delivery offices. However once the business have proposed it,(3 month consultation),they have been re-buffed as the agreement does not cover Delivery Offices. This is what happened at national level. Where it has happened,(and voted for),has been a logistical nightmare.

OK so DO closures are not in the agreement, but they are happening. Who would I make a freedom of information request to?

They are happening as they were voted for by the members,by proposition by the business. Don't think many did though Roy. Try Bob Gibson at CWU HQ?

It is obvious once Royal Mail moves the majority of deliveries onto park&loop the need for delivery offices 5 miles apart is questionable.
You didn't think it was all about packet fulfilment and weight off the shoulder did you?

Its funny,they still think "the dutch plan" is a good idea(???)

We don't seem to be able to win the argument of the extra vans on the road,no one apart from us seem to be questioning it.
So having less buildings is 'surely greener' will be the argument.

The first link is all FOI requests made from the What do they know website and the 2nd takes you to the page to make the request. I would suggest asking for planned DO closures broken down by postcode area. ie PE NR IP CB etc etc

Also ask a more general question as well such as how many D.O's do RM have at the moment and how many they expect to have by April 2013 when the BT 2010 transformation process is due to be completed.
