xmas mail

Hope gb93 doesn't think this is spouting off, ah! but i would like to know if other offices think they may not deliver in time for xmas as our office ( Barnsley ) is chocker everything just building up, rounds are too big n long 5/ 5.5 hrs, nobody wants to be out even longer or work days off, d.o.m appear'd to be loosing it on saturday, and no-one wanted to work sunday, i hope that at least we make sure packets n parcels get delivered for our customers but that may be doubtful no matter what we do though i sincereley believe it wont be enough or good enough for our mr humbug.

No mail been delivered in our office for 2 days

never seen a xmas like it in 25 years in the job.We never seem to be on top of the mail, dead not been killed off-no time just get yourself out

Luckily for us this will be the last Xmas as an evil, inefficient work shy public service. Next year we will be a new streamlined privately run business and we will probably have delivered all the xmas by the 21st of december and we will all be given 2 weeks off with full pay as a reward...............................

Im confident my D.O will deliver everything that turns up from the M.C.

However on Friday the M.C reduced its workforce by around 75 OPG's. Why RML consider one week before Xmas a suitable date for VR bods to leave is rather baffling.

Our office is nowhere near clear.

Staff have gone above and beyond over the last few weeks, but its been impossible to cope.

Many people have done over 100 hours overtime to get things done but its not enough.

Cant blame managers as theyve been pretty good giving as much overtime as is needed.

The growth in internet shopping, bad weather, cheap DSA parcels, a deluge of Amazon tracked (and in some offices) park and loop have made it impossible to deliver everything.

What's Christmas overtime like in an average DO? At Mount Pleasant, you can work 12 hours a day Monday through Saturday, with at least six hours on Sunday.

ourz was clear today,went back out,made up until me gear box went on me van,had to come back the office in first gear cu@@ was flyin round aswell ,no 739s people were in for a change.

My wage slip has been late the last 2 weeks, previous week it arrived on the Monday and for last Friday pay date i got the wage slip today, at least we are safe in the knowledge our money is in the bank.

My DOM tells me that half the VR's have been taken back on as Xmas casuals.

i like the system of employing casuals at mail centres.
i love sending yorks back to mail centres of missorts.
who cares royal mail has given millions of pounds of revenue due to dsa, and keeps cutting.
walks are far to big in this weather.
