Bad weather go out or not?

Sorry if this has already been covered in another topic but haven't got much time to look for it.

What happened today was they the roads in our area are still very bad and the h/s rep was trying to tell the managers it was unsafe for us to go out,but to be honest they were just ignoring him,which is totaly out of order.
Anyways what happened in the end,the managers said you can go out if you want to go out or stay if you don't feel safe,the h/s rep said if you were to go out when u had the option to stay you would not be covered for injury etc? and the managers were saying the opposite.please could somebody tell me which is right?

Yep I didn't go out,but most the office did.they are nuts! just want to know if you are covered if they give u the option to stay in or go out,its a cop out on there part!

We had to hang around till 9am before being told to go out but only to streets you feel will be safe. I took just over half mine out but to be honest i could have prob taken a couple of extra roads as it was not as bad under foot as i thought.

The worse thing i dread is getting stuck in the van which happened last year when i was stuck for 45 mins

At least 3 inches of thick ice on the pavements were i am bad weather really struck friday walking to work this morning it was - 8 and thats warm compared to other parts of the country. Accompanied later on in the day with a blast of freezing fog my heart glowed with warmth when i saw it coming down.

Had a reduced delivery saturday and one today were now in a back log only on letters as were clearing the packets.

Other offices in the area prepping everything then taking half out .

Ive been wearing a pair of those spykes and TBH have been great only descent bit of uniform ive had for a long time not slipped or gone over once YET ive just cursed myself now.

Good knows what tomorrow will bring as DIM is getting a bit anxious.

jus be careful and use sense. just like last january. as long as there is a layer of snow just enough to get some tread and traction, it be ok.
driving around off roads is cautionable, estates, uncleared streets.

you would have thought they would have devised an action plan by now.

im back in tomorrow after a long weekend , but i cut off friday - about half hrs worth, and sat and today (mon) no deliverys were performed due to safety, excess snow/ice/crashes everywhere, just know that now im back it will conincide with them saying its safe to deliver and ill have 3 days worth and a bit of cut off to deliver in totally unsafe conditions, in my office the managers seem to think that by them saying we decide what we think is safe, covers them if we fall and injure ourselves. I can sense a good argument in the morn. i only work 4 hrs tomorrow as well

Im now correcting myself the new spykes are shite after 3 deliveries one of mine have now fell apart the other has lost its studs and theres no more in our office.

I've been wearing mine since the bad weather started, sometime delivering for 6/7 hours and mine are fine, none of the studs have fallen off and because they're only used in snow/ice then I don't see how they can come off.
