Nightshift Cancelled????????
Our office has been told all nightshift has been cancelled (which should be interesting tomorrow) is this happening anywhere else???????????????????????????/

not at all, its very busy with packets so they have taken on 4 extra workers, and thus packets have been sorted by 0800 to 0830.
royal mail is labour intensive, get rid of managers on bonus and employ more workers its simple.
this will continue until xmas eve.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

You cant try and save money at this end of the year it's the nature of the beast,if we needed to save money then get rid of the top layers of managers who lets face it do nothing productive toward christmas and if we need to save more then get rid of casuals,not go around taking night staff off when they are doing some thing very productive like sorting packets and mail so we can make some headway toward getting people thier mail and gifts that they are waiting for.

They cancelled our nightshift approx 3 years ago, but this is the first year we haven't had any nights over the chrimbo.
It either gets cleared or it doesn't, not my problem.

Our nights went 5 years ago. 
We have a few coming in at 4am to sort packets.
