Being the cheery chappy I am I no longer send christmas cards, well, other than to immediate family.

However, those people that do, I can understand that they send cards to old addresses, after all, people move house and we don't always keep track, but surely as they're sat there writing out these cards they must realise that the poor sod that their sending their seasons greetings to has bought the farm. Surely?

I mean, if Uncle Dick and Auntie Mabel met a fiery death in a motorway pile-up you'd remember wouldn't you?

Or if your old mate Dave suffered a much less extravagant fate it would register on your radar I assume?

If you knew someone that vaguely that you didn't get an invite to the funeral...you never knew them at all.
So why bother with the card?

royal mail loves to surcharge cards its a brilliant idea, with a £1.00 admin fee.
christmas cards with the wrong post codes, are great.

I have one card that comes every Christmas to an old dear that died years ago , always with the same mistake on the address. You would have thought with not having a reply or hearing from her they may have got the hint she may be pushing up the daises , sad really

Best of all the Dumb~FU©K's really should put a return address on the back of their envelopes, an even simpler way of keeping track with lost ones....

Grey Cards (can't remember the fancy number ) - have had several people over the last couple of days saying "What are these ??" After a brief explanation of the reasons for it (i.e. some bugger can't be arsed to buy a "large" stamp) and the cost breakdown (i.e. the £1.00 admin fee), the answers nearly always the same ... "B*ll*x to that - it can bloody well stay there" - therefore DO now probably chocka with letters that will NEVER be collected
