how busy are your callers offices?

getting chaotic already, 4 yorks of packets and 200+ specials and recordeds to be booked in, with the guys not getting back till 3 or 4pm its an almost impossible task with the backlog ruuning into the following day,..of course there are always people that come with a docket dated the same day, and more often than not they are waiting the folowing day at opening time..they just cant see why they cant have their mail yet..i got back Saturday to see a queue with more than 50 people in it.

even worse.we had some muppet using old P739s from our old office
we moved like 2+ years ago and have had new P739's many times over since then due to changes in opening times
imagine how pissed of folks were going to our old office and finding no packets held there for them

yes thats happened a number of times, Im based in Berkshire and we got a phone call from some irate guy in London asking why he had to cpme all that way to pick up his packet, when I explained that he had to locate his local office he asked where it was..I said I dont know..he said tTHEN HOW THE F*CK AM I SUPPOSED TO GET MY ITEM?..I hung up without another word

I had that with some guy from an office about 10 miles away. He phoned up, moaning on about having to come down here for his parcel when he didn't live nearby. I apologised and said they must've used the wrong P739 and that it'll probably be at the local D.O. He still carried on moaning about it. I basically ended up asking him what he'd like me to do as I'd given him the details of the local D.O. based on the information provided and apologised several times and yet he still carried on moaning about coming all the way down here. I despair with the general public, I really do.

We had a guy come to my old office from about 50 miles away (on Anglesey) with a P739... I apologised to him but what else could I do?! I would've thought it would've rang alarm bells being asked to travel 50 odd miles to collect a packet and I, personally, would have double checked it. But no, he just got in his car and drove all the way there!

It made me laugh one year when someone came with a P739 dated about 8 weeks previously. Then complaining that we'd sent the item back. I pointed out it does say 3 weeks on the back of the card and that we'd actually kept it for 4 as we'd not got around to sending it back. The customer was really irate, saying we shouldn't return them to sender if uncollected, we should keep them at the office. I pointed out if we did that with the christmas stuff alone, never mind the rest of the year, we'd need a warehouse, not the small room we've got. Tit.
