Wearing Shorts All Year Round !!!

For all those idiots who wear shorts all year round...IT'S NOT FUNNY AND IT'S NOT CLEVER !!
Is it some kind of competition to see who can last the longest throughout the coldest most
bitterest of the winter months? I just don't get it...If you get colds or flu it's your own fault.
Shorts should not been worn from early october and not worn again until early april.
Don't get me wrong i'm all for shorts in the summer but wearing them all winter long is crazy.

Wow you really have a problem with this, although your wrong on colds and flu, they arent caught by cold weather they are virusus and are caught from other people.

Chill mate why get stressed about what others do concentrate on yourself but 2 things

1. Its a democracy they can do what they want within reason.

I wear shorts all year and I can honestly say that apart from cycling my legs are no colder, in fact they are colder in trousers because the material gets cold and rubs on my legs, plus when its wet my legs dry off quicker than trousers. If you haven't tried wearing shorts on a cold day then don't knock it, I will defend it till the death.

It is far more comfortable to wear shorts in the wet, because your skin is waterproof and wet trousers are just uncomfortable.
You don't tend to feel the cold in your legs. Keep the head warm and keep the top part of your arms warm. (That's where the heat receptors are. That is where you rub when you are cold)

As Kids in the fifties and sixties we wore skirts or shorts all year round, (no choice) even in the coldest weather! And boy did you cry out in pain when the chapped legs started to heat up in bed every night!

I guess its everyone's right to choose to wear shorts or not? I think RM should introudce manditory drug testing for everyone wearing them in the snow though! lol! Sure the flu and colds thing is just hear say but hypothermia isnt!

Aslong as your inner core temperature doesnt drop you have nothing to worry about from hypothermia, dont wear too musch or you could suffer hyperthermia

A more immediate worry from wearing too much is sweating from activity in cold weather, then stopping....and getting chilled, that's why I like going out in shorts & short sleeved shirt & fingerless gloves ( last year during the end of the snow, I was still sweating during my first pouch ), even if it's close to zero, if the sun is shining and the wind isn't blowing, I wear as little as I do during summer as it's the most comfortable for me.

I wear shorts as much as I can (gotta get SOME colour on my lil milky white pins!). It really is better to wear shorts when it's raining. Wet trousers sticking onto your wet lets <shudders>

I only went into trousers because I was in the "valleys" and it was -6... even that's too much for me!
