RTA and ERICA

Quick question...had a minor collision in the OMV on Saturday, no injuries to me or the other driver, TF, even the damage was slight, and the other driver was talking about trying to sort a knock-for-knock arrangement for the insurance, and basically was very reasonable about it. I phoned it in to my manager at the time, and he said he'd go through ERICA with me on Monday. As it was he was still there on Saturday when I got back, we discussed some of the details in passing, but he didn't say anything about doing ERICA then ( fair enough, I'm happy to go home ).

Today, it was kind of busy, and I was prepping up my round & a part time round ( it goes out on SA docket everyday ), but nothing really special...and still nothing was said about doing the paperwork, and as I doubted I'd be the one in the s**t for not filling out the ERICA form I wasn't going to bail him out

Anyway, what I want to know is, what are the implications for me ( good & bad ) if ERICA is not filled out? And would it be advisable for me to give the lineo the nod that it needs doing?

If he has filled out the ERRIKA on your passing chat. The Area H&S rep should have had a copy. Might be worth asking your unit rep to contact area and find out whats been filled out. If anything at all.

I would leave it for him to chase you up. If the third party is not going to claim and manager forgets let sleeping dogs lie. If you remind manager and you got a blameworthy it may in the future go agianst you. So thats my way of thinking .

I had this a while back,manager too lazy to do the ERICA thing until the other insurance company got in touch and then he s**t himself and put the reason ERICA was not filled out in time,because that question comes up on the computer due to the dates difference,was the computer wasn't working and he couldn't log on to the ERICA thing.

Don't worry Jim you've done your bit,the only person who would get their arse kicked is the manager.

Frankly speaking everything should be reported. Whether it be an accident, near miss or dangerous occurence.

Sweet, I figured as much....this is my third claim in less than a year, and I more or less accept blame for the first, definately accept blame for the second, but if I get the blame for this one ( which is doubt is all mine ), I'd be taken off driving ( & my rural duty covering S/L ) is there any right to appealthe decision, or getting the transport mgr to see things from my POV ( short of pointing a set of "nostils" in his boat, and offering to show him how postal his decision could make me go )

Did those claims effect the cost of your own personal insurance policy

Between you, me & t'interweb....I never f*ckin' told my insurers - they won't reduce my insurance as a professional driver, so they can get bent if they want to increase my insurance, due to knocks as a professional driver ( I know, I know, not a very professional attitude, and in fact downright immature, if not risky to my own insurance....but bollocks to 'em, I'm sick of my insurance premiums only moving one way!

It comes at an important time as new delivery methods mean more postmen and women will be getting behind the wheel of Royal Mail vans.

Is there any info on site about ZAP? Forgive me if I plead ignorance, but I was distracted from reading The Courier by something else more intresting and belivable ( some paint that was drying, and Jeffery "I'm a convicted lying bastard" Archer's autobiog. respectively )
