Like everyone else we're undering going the revision fiasco.
We have a duty resign coming up and we're being told that out CWU rep has signed off on new way of fulfilling duties. Mech can only sign for mech, if they refuse and want a manual job they go to the bottom of the seniority list. They seem to be making up the rules as they go along, we've asked to see a copy of this deal and been blanked.
Can local agreement supercede "The Way Forward Agreement?"
Can the CWU rep do this off his own back without a vote by membership?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Way forward, superceded by local agreement?
No it can't.Do you think that if an office votes to change NDA times or bring back the PHG grade that it means anything.I did a grievance on this exact issue ,both management and the union were ignoring the Way Forward in my office. It went to stage 3 ,the stage three manager consulted the senior manager who basically wrote the Way Forward on RMs part,RMs legal group and although he didn't need to a very senior CWU official, the answer was the same from all three.Unless any national agreement states that a certain issue within the agreement can be decided localy ,the only people who can change the agreement are the national cwu and the RM board,POSTMAN wrote:Can local agreement supercede "The Way Forward Agreement?"

Re: Way forward, superceded by local agreement?
In my office town revision has been delayed until after Christmas, rural revision will be happening next year sometime.
DOM is adamant there will not be a resign. He conducted a vote amongst town walks only to see if they wanted a resign.
I was of the understanding, possibly wrongly, that under the agreement there HAD to be a resign due to "Major Change".
Major Change includes delivery revisions which involves significant re-plotting of walks. OR significant restructuring of attendance patterns. OR shorter working week. It seems to me we will be having all three, re-plotting of walks, restructuring of attendance patterns (new start times), and a shorter working week (40 to 39 hours).
