Revision - how many extra packets per day?

Can the drivers who drop the large packets off to customers answer this one please?

As a rough estimate how many packets do you drop off for each posties walk each day? As the new revision will include this I wonder how many extra we will really be doing and how much extra time it will realistically take.

I reckon with large packets tracked and specials you will b calling an extra 15-25 houses between the 2 cdv rounds.

usually do two rounds packets, took me 1-30 hours sat they were quite a lot, usually about an hour though to be honest, you will be doing them as you go round so will save time that way though lol!
CDVs, we have been told were not getting them as we have run out of cash!

This is a bit confusing in our D/O because if you are inside the Mile it looks like there is to be little change
to these duties, except that most will be done with HCTs instead of bikes, a HCT has a max weight of 105kg
so this limits the amount you can carry
As most pkt dutys are S/A in our D/O some will have to stay, I take out packets for 7 duties, on average it is
about 55-60pkts a day, this is a 4hr S/A with a small collection on the end
The CDV duties are supposed to take ALL mail, ALL pkts, ALL tracked & ALL Specials
BRING IT ON M8Y , maybe RM are gonna put us all thru HGV licenses

My manager showed me something very interesting a few months back. It was a tool that showed him how to plan a PACKET driving duty, and guess how long each drop was supposed to take?

Thats driving time, belt, doors, knock, sign, doors, belt.

Managers to scared to speak up and fight for the D/O they manage how do they live with themselves.

As a mate of mine said to our manager the other week " I'm going to buy a box of snickers at least then you will have some nuts "

Surely there is no other company driven by computer programmes churning out ludicrous un-workable figures/time scales.

Our Dim reckons its 23 packets an hour, mixed tracked and sig items bit more realistic but still a push if you do it properly! :lfo

duties vary
we can have CDV duties that can get a yorkie of packets a day!
others wont get that a week

My duty is a walking/driving duty and i also drop overweight packets off for two extra rounds. At present i prob deliver 5-10 overweights which can take anything from 10-30 mins extra.

After the revision i really cant say as the extra packets will be coming off and further delivery work added. All i do know is that it wont be me doing it
