Managers doing postal grade work!

Can we report this to anyone? this is wrong. because of managers doing postal grade work at our office they are hiding the hours they are saving because if they didnt do this they would have to get more people in etc. between them they are probably doing around 20 - 40 hrs of a posties work a week at our office.

The first is a complaint that they don't have enough to do between them, viz, management is overstaffed, ergo, if money needs to be saved, save it from management hours

The second is a complaint that OPGs have too much to do between them, viz, the workers are understaffed, ergo, the workplace is inefficient & hours need to be put in.

Seems simple enough to understand, innit?

We have the same problem in our MC,we were told to show any writen agreements that says that managers can't do OPGs work.We can't find any.

If it's common round the country then they may as well axe most managers and make them "Team Leaders", perhaps normal postmans pay and allowances but with say a £60 "Leadership Allowance". It would save RM some money, just one manager per shift doing all the paperwork with the rest as "Team Leaders"

They're not helping us though.
If managers neeed to do OPG work then there are not enough indoor hours to cover the workload.
If managers have surplus hours then they don't have enough work to do.
This scenario is perfectly possible:
2x managers cut and tip/prep for 2 hours each.
They save 4 indoor hours.
Now the posties can lapse a walk.

Does that not tell you something that the dom has nothing better to do than to do postmans work! If there is no work available for the dom inside his/her office then i think the dom needs to go...now that would save money. Personally i don't think we need half the doms in this country, imagine the savings RM would make

How naive! The only people they are trying to help is themselves, the more OPG work they do, the less gets spent on the office budget = the bigger THEIR bonus is!

easy now,its managers spending too long doing postie work and not managers work that won me my stage 3 appeal

spot on clash there is also the fact that staff dont complain because then they would have to do it, so once again the selfish me,me,me brigade kill the job by looking at the smaller picture
