Had a look at my pay slip today and worked some over time last week expecting to be paid the right amount of hours. Well the hours i worked were 8hrs 45mins, on the payslip it came out as 4hrs 15mins. Now what confused me even more was the fact i was paid 15mins and should of been paid 45mins as i did 45mins extended if you see where am coming from...it just doesn't add up?

Going to complain about this big mistake to whom my dom or the union?

As far as i'm concerned i will be paid less per hour in next weeks pay slip just because it will look like i've been working over 10+ hours in one week (btw worked about 10 hours this week).

No. Belated overtime goes in at the higher rate.

I knew someone would mention this...but i've calculated my wages per hour if i work more than 10 hours and its a lower rate than if i work 10 hours or less.

That is correct. Overtime above 10 hours is paid at a lower rate. However any back paid overtime (up to 10 hours) is always paid at the "first 10 hours" (higher) rate.

Raise it with your manager all you like, if it's anything like my place, you won't get it back. I haven't been paid right again this week (6.5 hours down). I'll make a point of it, but nothing will be done, then I'll make a bigger point of simply never doing overtime again. Go out of your way to help managers out and you get nothing in return. They care about getting the mail out and that's it.

It seems to happen a lot. My mate who is an AG after 12 years is owed 4 hours from several weeks ago. Everytime he speaks to a manager he gets fobbed off . He's been told it's Sheffields fault etc, I've told him to see our rep. The twats want the work done but dont want to pay for it.

Lad at our DO did loads of overtime last week as he knew he had a big weekend piss-up planned with his mates,starting today.

Got his wage slip yesterday & how much o/t had he been paid?

when a company is unable to pay overtime promptly its time to ask about the future of the company, lack of cashflow is indicative of the a time to jump ship if you ask me.

If a company ask me to work for free to tide it over a cashflow problem, I woudl refuse because when it goes under, I would get nothing, this has happened to other people in similar circumstances elsewhere.

DSMs in our area have been told to push hard with lapsing and they want to see no pressure.Now your DOM knows he can't clear on some days without pressure so he asks you to do the O/T cos he'd rather tackle you about the non payment rather than tell his DSM he hasn't lapsed it.
