Annual leave sheets

On the annual leave sheets it says

On entry 4 weeks -2.5 days.
After 5 years. 4 weeks 3.5 days.
After 15 years. 5 weeks 1 day.
After 20 years. 6 weeks.

What I want to know is this. the first one 4 weeks -2.5 days that means you have 4 weeks and 2 days off. where does the half day come in. my manager has never came to me and "said throw your walk off and go home we owe you half day"
can anyone shed any light on this please???

Half day carried over to the next year so it's 4 weeks 2 days then 4 weeks 3 days, etc.

couple of our guys have got the 1/2 day,only cos they came in dying with the cold,prepped their duties & asked to be sent home

the half day used to be for maunday thursday so you got a day off every second year,now days most people buy extra leave up to 6 weeks and its adjusted then

I asked this same question many years ago. According to my DIM half days do not exist, at least on deliveries. The only way you can use them is to wait til you have two to make a whole day or use it when buying extra holiday time.
